Spring 2019 with Embedded Spring Break Travel to Israel

Israel has been called the Startup Nation for the way social, historical and political factors foster a culture of entrepreneurship. This is an active learning course that covers key entrepreneurial and business start-up concepts. This special section emphasizes a comparison of culture, society and the entrepreneurship eco-systems between the U.S. and the Middle East, especially Israel.

  • ENGR 310.001 meets for the regular 15-week semester PLUS Spring Break (3/1 – 3/10/19)
  • Israel itinerary may include visiting startups, innovation labs and accelerators, touring historic sites, meeting founders, VCs and policymakers. Travel may include Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Be'er Sheva, the Negev
  • Estimated student fee: $3000 (includes airfare, lodging, ground transport, breakfasts, tour/museum fees
  • U.S. citizens need passport. Non-U.S. citizens responsible for obtaining tourist information and visas.
  • Enrollment limited to 15 students who are passionate about e-ship and innovation, have a sense of adventure and a third for learning, interest in experiencing a new culture, flexibility, maturity, reliability.
  • Applications accepted until 11/8. To apply, email to enti@psu.edu a statement of interest (why you want to go), a current resume and name and contact info for a reference, not a family member (e.g., a supervisor, professor, adviser, coach, scout leader).
